IBM Names New CEO

IBM's CEO, Sam Palmisano, announced this week that Virginia “Ginni” Rometty will become IBM's new CEO. She has been at IBM for 30 years and has been given the promotion because everyone knows her and "she deserves it", according to Palmisano.

What we really love is IBM's approach to the transition. They are taking the same approach MasterCard took when they appointed a new CEO. The old and new CEO will work together for a short period, then the old CEO will work as an advisor as needed basis, then finally Rometty will fly solo. But Rometty is no rookie, she is armed with a 100 day action plan and core management values that will drive management effectiveness. Lodestar is very excited for Ginni Rometty and we look forward to working with IBM under her leadership.

Lodestar Wins Awards from IBM

We are proud to announce that Heather Cole, President Lodestar Solutions, was not only selected as an Information Champion but that she also won the Information Champion Growth Area Contribution of the Year Award for her continuous education of clients and prospects in the benefits of Business Analytics. She will be enjoying her new IPad2 that came with the award.

Lodestar Solutions also was awarded the Center of Exellence Award by IBM.
